My professional journey at Fonderie Boisson began in 2014 through my academic program. I had the opportunity to complete my end-of-study internship in collaboration with the foundry, and at the end of it, I received my university diploma in Industrial Logistics Quality and Organization (QLIO).
A few years later, after several business assignments, the discovery of the professional world, and an enriching year abroad, I returned to Fonderie Boisson.
In 2018, the company offered me a position as a floating controller, where my mission was to identify and locate foundry defects in ongoing production batches, with the goal of either validating or halting production. “The sooner a defect is identified, the faster we can react and thus limit scrap.” For this, I have access to various machines and tools (shot blaster, lathe, milling machine, caliper, etc.), as well as a computer station to ensure traceability of parts and maintain their history.
The role also includes a laboratory aspect, with regular material analysis to monitor production, ensure the reliability of finished products, and comply with current standards.
In 2022, I experienced a career development and now hold the position of Quality Technician. My role involves monitoring, analyzing, and detailing each step of manufacturing and product inspection, as well as managing customer feedback. I still handle the laboratory work, analyzing and testing sand, while also dealing with more technical tasks like verifying and preparing pattern plates.
I collaborate with the Quality Manager and the Continuous Improvement Manager to handle non-conformance issues, write quality sheets, implement improvement actions, produce dimensional control reports, and analyze and track testing results. I interact with all the stakeholders within the foundry and ensure product conformity at each stage of its production.
This profession is something I hold dear, and I take pride in contributing to the advancement of new projects to help the company reach its goals. I continue to gain experience and knowledge in the quality field, particularly in the world of foundry. I am developing my communication skills, attention to detail, and diplomacy, and I strive to pass on my organizational skills, team spirit, and analytical thinking to always deliver the best product to our clients.
I envision my future within the company, with new opportunities for growth, in order to maintain my professional fulfillment.Guillaume B. , Quality Technician -
After completing my BTS in Commercial Unit Management in 2008, I undertook various temporary assignments. It was during one of these that I unexpectedly arrived at Fonderie Boisson at the end of 2010 to take on the role of quality controller.
This industry was completely unknown to me, and I was supposed to stay for only a few weeks. However, the variety of tasks, the desire to grow, and to learn more about foundry processes, along with the family-like atmosphere of the company, led me to accept a permanent job offer in April 2012.
In the following years, I benefited from several internal and external training courses that allowed me to deepen my knowledge and, in 2020, I was promoted to Quality Technician.
I held this position for three years, with one foot in the workshop, following quality at every stage of production, and the other foot in the office, acting as a liaison for the Quality Manager.
Finally, thanks to these three years of learning alongside the Quality Manager, and after his retirement at the beginning of 2023, his position was offered to me, and I have held this role since then.
In conclusion, I would say that the company has allowed me to evolve and find my path in an industry I never imagined being part of, especially since it all started with a simple temporary assignment among many others I had previously completed.Gaëtan M. , Quality Manager
